100% fermented and matured in concrete, this Pinot takes us back to a time of downball games and hopscotch grids in the schoolyard. Pure and full of life, but just a little bit mischevous.
A bit of a deviation from our previous iterations, the 2020 Spring is a wine that speaks very strongly of its vintage. Still marked by the bright floral tones we love in this young vineyard, but with a fuller palate of fleshy stone fruits supported by chalky structure and a creamy acidity reminiscent of Grandma’s famous lemon meringue pie.

Sitting behind the Waramate hills, this area encompasses both red volcanic and grey loam soils making it slightly more complicated to pinpoint a clear identity of this subregion. The undulating hills provide protection from the drier winds, the rainfall is slightly higher and the perfume, weight and structure appears more dense and effortless, pulling through seamlessly to the back palate.
This years first pick from our original Riesling vineyard, the RS22 has a long life ahead of it. Fermented and matured in a combination of large and small old oak, this RS has bracing acidity and grippy phenolics, with just enough sweetness to temper such a powerful Riesling.
