  • Winter Reds Mixed-6 Pack

Release Special: Includes a bottle of each of the new release wines, plus a bottle of the 2017 Hugh Merlot and 2017 Healesville Syrah.

2017 is defined by lifted aromatics, pure fruits and formidable tannins. Both of these museum releases are well and truly out of their youthful phase, but certainly have a long road ahead of them. The 2017 Hugh Merlot is showing early signs of maturity, with a complex savoury structure starting to push through the bright fruits, while the heady floral aromatics of the 2017 Healesville Syrah have settled into the elegant framework laid down by extensive whole bunch treatment.

  • 2017 EB40 Flaming Nebbiolo

We recently tasted this blind in the company of some stunning Nebbiolos from around the globe. What really stood out was the fruit purity and depth of structure… Tannin that will carry this wine for decades. Perhaps even more important is that we see Nebbiolo building a serious reputation for itself in the Yarra. This EB is about the future and just how promising that future looks.

  • 2019 EB49 Funky Bunch Cabernet Franc

We are always excited by Cabernet Franc, even more so when we have enough to allow for a single variety bottling. A beautiful season for grapes in the Cabernets family, this fruit came in with such personality that we had to ferment it separately. Some whole bunch action, and maturation in old small format oak has let these grapes show their true colours. Vibrant, leafy and a little funky, this Cab Franc is the perfect wine to pair with your Saturday afternoon BBQ.

  • 2019 Healesville Syrah

A very dry season for the Yarra, 2019 was low yielding but high quality. A cool change early in the harvest helped to retain freshness, although the vintage is apparent in the darker aromatics. Only a baby, the 2019 Healesville Syrah is still a little closed, with restrained fruits and fine chalky tannin structure that will carry it through to maturity.

  • 2018 Hugh Cabernets

A unique iteration of the Hugh, the 2018 Cabernets come from grey loam soils in Gruyere. The cool wet winter, followed by a hot growing season has yielded a plusher fruit profile that makes this wine quite approachable in its youth, but will also age elegantly. Reminiscent of classic old-world Cabernet, the 2018 Hugh sings with bright leafy aromatics, a silty tannin backbone and a savoury finish.

  • 2017 Hoddles Creek Chardonnay

Recently reviewed by Nick Butler for Gourmet Traveller WINE ~ 97 POINTS

From our only vineyard on the prominent red soils of the upper Yarra. This wine continues to be the definition of purity and focus as the ripe beady thread of acidity carries the fruit impeccably.

  • 2019 Gladysdale Villages Chardonnay

Sitting at the southern end of the Yarra below Yarra Junction in the valley running north-south down to Gippsland. It receives increased warm air that travels down the valley, with increased air moisture content due to the surrounding forests and higher solar radiation. Grey/brown clay soils dominate, with full, rich aromatics and a supple structure that sits prominently on the front palate.

  • 2019 Yarra Junction Villages Chardonnay

East facing within a smaller valley that runs from Yarra Junction to Poweltown in the south, featuring grey loam soils with underlying silt. Cooler winds roll off the Yarra River, with mountains directly to the north and south-west providing protection from hot afternoon sun in summer. Typically later ripening, thicker skins and higher acids are reflected in elegant structure with clean lines and powerful drive.

  • 2019 Woori Yallock Villages Chardonnay

Sitting behind the Waramate hills, this area encompasses both red volcanic and grey loam soils making it slightly more complicated to pinpoint a clear identity of this subregion. The undulating hills provide protection from the drier winds, the rainfall is slightly higher and the perfume, weight and structure appears more dense and effortless, pulling through seamlessly to the back palate.

  • 2019 Coldstream Villages Pinot Noir

At the entrance to the Valley floor, this subregion is low elevation with grey loam clay based soils. Ripping winds from the north slow transpiration in summer but the cooler overnight temperatures aid the plants ability to regulate after hot days making this classic valley floor area suitable for many varieties. Ironstone/mudstone is a consistently big influence, building full mid-palate structure with soft, melting tannins.
