This is our warmest vineyard and therefore the first vineyard we pick. Coldstream was planted in 1997 and sits at an altitude of 110m. The soils are made up of grey loam overlying clay and as the vineyard faces west, they hold much of the afternoon heat. The vines are vertically shoot positioned on a higher than normal trellis, offering as much shade as possible to the ground. Due to the increased exposure to the elements, wines from this vineyard tend to display greater fruit punctuation supported by a firm yet dense tannin bed.
