The most exciting time of the year has rolled around again. HARVEST! Many miles have been walked tasting fruit in the vineyards, marking out their points of difference to separate the picks. Most importantly Woori Yallock has been walked by all the vintage team to find this seasons offerings.
Despite a cool start and late bud burst the weather gods have given us a warm and wet season. This has provided favourable growing conditions to give our established vineyards big, healthy canopies and help our newly planted vines find their feet.
Pickers have been snipping fruit (and the occasional finger) flat out. The fruit has been flying in the door and the winery is now alive with budding yeast as ferments progress.
The noticeable traits in fruit this season have been ripe flavours and tannins at low sugar levels. It could be a year for some pretty wines? Only time will tell as the wines begin speak for themselves.
