We’re really excited to release our 2018 Yarra Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah. Here’s a little about about the growing season and the resultant wines.
Regular rainfall for the first half of the season followed by warmer than average summer temperatures saw a healthy crop constantly under disease pressure early followed by vigorous growth later. Our team managed this well and by the back end of the season when things had dried out and temperatures rose, we were motoring along.
The 2018 Yarra Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah are (given the warmer end to the season) not surprisingly already approachable. Even though these wines have not been long in bottle, they are showing a little more give and generosity. Possibly the Chardonnay offers the greatest drive and power where the reds are offering more fruit weight and charm right now.
With slightly bigger berries and bunches across each of the varieties, we’re already seeing lovely fruit weight and texture sitting in harmony with subtle underlying structure that has its origins in the grey loam duplex soils.
These wines are available now on our Buy Wines page.
